About

Deck overlooking water

Liberty Wilderness Lodge is remote, rustic and off-grid! We pump and purify our own drinking water, generate our own solar electricity, and aim to grow and harvest as much of our own food as possible.

Although we are remote, we still have some of the finer creature comforts for your enjoyment, including a wood-fired sauna and wood-fired hot tub! We have excellent high-speed (Starlink) internet and cellular service for connectivity, hot showers, composting toilets and a well-stocked, all-indigenous authored library.

Kayaks and stand up paddle boards are available for your enjoyment and use, as are our binoculars, stargazing telescope, dart board and games!

Your Hosts

Teara & Trevin

Liberty Wilderness Lodge was founded in March 2023, after several years of searching for the perfect spot.

Ever since meeting over 10 years ago, Teara and Trevin have long shared a desire to live a lifestyle "on the land", more closely connected to Mother Earth and surrounded by nature. It was a formative bond which led them to Northern BC, and ultimately to this unique property - where they hosted 20 of their closest family and friends for their wedding in August 2023!

We are beyond delighted to be able to host and share the beauty, magic and remoteness of Liberty Wilderness Lodge with you.

We look forward to welcoming you in person this summer!

Valid fishing licenses are required for anyone wanting to fish. Fishing rods and basic equipment can be provided.

Wildlife

LWL Trailcam Images

Liberty Wilderness Lodge is surrounded by abundant wildlife.

Its a bird watching paradise, with many bird species living and transiting Babine Lake, including Loons, Ravens, Golden Eagles, Bald Eagles, Gulls, Geese and our favourite; Hummingbirds.

Known as a spirit messenger, Hummingbird wings beat so rapidly they produce their namesake sound, and are the only birds able to hover and fly backwards!

Moose, Elk, Deer, Black Bear and Grizzly Bear all frequent the area, along with Beaver, Wolf and Coyote.
